Snowmobiling conditions are great!
We have lots of snow – time to ride. Groomers are running – be careful on corners, there is ice under all that fresh snow. Best conditions that we’ve seen in years!
TV 9 & 10 weather:
Today: Some snow will be out there for the U.P. today while the Northern Lower may see some light snow showers. However as we head into this evening another weak system pushes into Northern Michigan. The U.P. and Tip of the Mitt is looking at heavy to moderate snow while the Lower Peninsula sees snow, mix and rain. Areas of the U.P. could see 1-3? by this evening while areas of the Lower Peninsula will see the majority of any snow accumulations this evening and tonight. Highs range from the the mid 20s to upper 30s with winds out of the East/Southeast at 5-15 mph.
Tonight: We see snow showers for the U.P. and Tip of the Mitt tonight with another 2-4? by Friday morning. The Northern Lower sees any rain or mix changing over to snow by 10-11 pm leading to some accumulations. The Tip of the Mitt is looking 3-6? while the rest of the Northern Lower sees 1-4? by Friday morning. The Central Lower is looking at scattered rain, mix and snow so accumulations will be minor at less than 1?. Roads could be slick in spots for your Friday morning commutes so make sure to plan ahead and take it slow! Overnight lows range from the mid teens to mid 20s with winds out of the Southwest for the Lower Peninsula at 10-20 mph. The U.P. sees East winds at 5-15 mph.
Tomorrow: Lake effect snow will be out there for the end of your work week with highs in the lower to upper 20s . Any accumulations will be minor throughout the day.
The Weekend: A nice Saturday in store with partly sunny skies and temps in the lower to upper 20s. Sunday will start off quiet but some clouds move in for the afternoon along with the chance for some light snow for the Lower Peninsula by the evening hours. Highs will be in the lower to upper 20s.
Next Week: Skies are looking cloudy with the chance for some snow on Monday with highs in the low 20s to low 30s. Tuesday sees more clouds and isolated snow showers. Highs will be in the low 20s to low 30s. Wednesday is looking mostly to partly sunny with highs in the mid 20s to low 30s.
