February is hit or miss with regard to the weather in Grayling, but just because you can’t ride now, doesn’t mean now is not the time to visit! Just wait a day, there is always another storm around the corner! Even if winter ends early, there are plenty of other great ways to enjoy Grayling. Even if you choose to branch out to surrounding communities, Grayling is a perfect jumping off spot for many larger communities as well including Traverse City, the largest city in northern Michigan!
Grayling is more than just a drive through. A historic small town, Grayling has a long history related mostly, to the outdoor. Settled first by lumber barons and Native Americans, it has also been known as the largest producer of bows and arrows in the past thanks to Fred Bear. Grayling has even been featured in music thanks to Fred Bear! Home to the largest state park in the lower peninsula, thousands of miles of snowmobile trail and ORV trails, this is just the tip of the iceburg so to speak.
