Snowmobile Trail Conditions 1/12.
Groomers are running and trails are in good shape. The southern part of our trail system has less snow, as is normal. We had some rain earlier this week, so watch out for ice under the snow, particularly on corners. Slow down out there and be careful!
TV 9 & 10 weather forecast:
Today: Take your time and be careful out there as road crews are getting a handle on the roads. Today is going to start off with some snow showers for the Lower Peninsula which will give us a fresh few inches of snow to deal with. Roads could be a bit slick and visibilities could be a bit reduced. Skies will be cloudy this afternoon with a chance for some light snow near Lake Michigan and in the Eastern U.P. Conditions will improve this afternoon and evening. Highs are going to be in the low 20s to low 30s with winds out of the West at 5-15mph.
Tonight: We will have some lake effect snow for the U.P. tonight but the Lower Peninsula will be in for partly to mostly cloudy skies. We could see a few flurries for areas near the Northwest Lower Peninsula. Overnight lows are going to range from 2 to 12 degrees. Winds will be a bit gusty out of the West at 10-20mph.
Friday & Your Weekend: Mostly to partly sunny skies will develop for Friday with a chance for a morning flurry in the U.P. Highs are going to be in the low teens to low 20s. Saturday is going to be a little cloudy with a chance for a flurry. Highs are going to be in the low 20s to low 30s. Sunday is looking mostly sunny with highs in the mid 20s to mid 30s.
Next Week: Monday is looking quiet to start but rain and snow will move in for the afternoon and evening. Highs are going to be in the low 30s to low 40s. Tuesday will start off with a chance for some rain/snow. Highs are going to be in the mid 30s to low 40s.
