TV 9 & 10 forecast as of Thursday, Dec.22
Friday: The day start out nice and bright but clouds move in for the evening hours. The winds are breezy around 10-20 mph and highs reach the mid 30s to mid 40s. It’s a great day for anyone traveling for Christmas weekend for most of the day, there is just a small system that moves through overnight.
Friday Night: A passing system brings another round of wet, heavy snow through much of the night for Michigan. Right now the system looks to move in after 7pm with snow totals around 2-4″ for most by morning. This could bring periods of reduced visibility and slick roads in spots before it clears out early Saturday.
Christmas Weekend & Monday: A couple of flurries start the day for Christmas Eve but skies become partly sunny. It’s another good day for travelers and temperatures remain above average with highs are in the 30s to low 40s. Christmas day starts with some sunshine but clouds and winds quickly increase through the day ahead of an approaching system. Highs are in the low 30s to low 40s. The brunt of a strong storm system arrives Christmas night. Right now snow, freezing rain, and rain are all possible along with strong gusty winds. The system lasts through much of Monday with just a couple breaks in the action. Cold air wraps in behind the system, causing temperatures to fall through the day on Monday. If you have plans to travel, road conditions will likely be rough for much of the Midwest. Stay tuned for more updates.
