With the warm temperatures we had last weekend, trails are ice with about an inch (so far today) of fresh snow on top. Groomer drivers are out doing some runs to see how things shape up.
TV 9 & 10 weather:
This Morning/Today: This morning we have some snow starting to work into areas South of M-72 which will continue to build in strength and drop about 3-6 inches for areas along and South of US-10 while many areas along and North of M-55 will see 1-3″ for the Lower Peninsula. Morning commutes could be a but tricky in the Central L.P. with slick roads and some reduced visibilities but conditions will be better the farther North you head. Some lake effect snow will hang around the Lake Superior shoreline but for many of the Northern L.P. and Eastern U.P. expect clouds this morning. Temperatures are in the upper single digits to low 20s with variable winds at 5-15mph. Expect to see snow in the Central L.P. which will lead to 3-6″ of snow by this evening. Most areas of the Lower Peninsula will see 1-3″ of snow today with the heaviest amounts near the Lake Huron shoreline for the Northern L.P. They could see 3-6″ by tonight. The Eastern U.P. will see clouds with a chance for some isolated lake effect. Highs today are going to be in the lower to upper 20s with winds out of the North/Northeast at 5-15mph. Overall things will be snowy the farther South you head and quiet the farther North you head.
Tonight: Expect cloudy skies tonight with overnight lows in the low single digits to low teens. Some snow might linger for the Central L.P. but things will transition to more of a lake effect snow into tomorrow morning. Winds will be out of the North at 5-15mph tonight.
Wednesday/Thursday: Lake effect snow showers will be out there for areas through the day. Expect to see breezy winds and highs in the mid teens to mid 20s. Expect to see a chance for some light snow Thursday but skies will be mostly to partly sunny for most areas. Highs are going to be in the upper teens to upper 20s.
Friday & The Weekend: Partly to mostly cloudy skies will be out there to end the work week with highs in the mid 20s to low 30s. Saturday is looking cloudy with a chance for some light snow. Highs are going to be in the lower to middle 30s. A clipper system will move in for Sunday with highs in the upper 20s to upper 30s. This could bring a good shot of snow and gusty winds. Monday is looking warm and mostly to partly sunny. Highs are going to be in the upper 30s to mid 40s.
