Our next meeting will be December 5, 2013.

January 2, 2014 February 6, 2014 March 6, 2014 April 3, 2014
Trail maintenance – Signing was completed in October. The DNR will be grading Trail 79 and behind the Crawford Sports Complex with minor final touches the trail should be ready to ride now all we need is SNOW!
News from MSA –
- MSA had received complaints that the signing changes were causing deaths on the trail system. MSA ran a report on the 2013 fatalities and found that out of 23 fatalities in the State 9 were on marked trails and of those 6 were alcohol related.
- Share the Trails? Who and what will we be sharing our snowmobile trails with in the future? There appears to be a push to open snowmobile trails to ATVs (this includes UTV, side by sides, etc.) this is not just a Michigan issue but an issue across all snow states. This opens a ton of questions Safety is first and foremost also who pays for grooming, land ownership issues (about 50% of trails in Michigan are on private property), would ATVs be required to have Snowmobile Trail Permits. Last June the International Snowmobile Congress formed a committee to look into how snowmobile trail could or should be shared.
Have you seen Snowtrails TV? – A local Michigan film producer starts broadcasting on Discovery Network’s Velocity Channel. It’s a reality show that allows the viewers to experience the best of snowmobiling areas within the U.S. and Canada. Check out Snowtrails on Saturday mornings at 7: a.m. on Velocity, Dish channel 246, Direct TV channel 281 or check your local cable listing for Snowtrails TV.
Safe Riding – remember safe riding starts with you! Ride sober!
