Elections Announcement Date Correction – Three board seats Art Fisette, Keith Miles, and Bob Smith will be up for election at the General Membership meeting December 6, 2012. If, you would like to nominate someone for any of these seats mail that information to AVSA, PO Box 1176, Grayling, MI 49738 or in person prior to the December 6, 2012 General Membership Meeting.
Membership Application – Just a friendly reminder, if you have not completed and returned your 2012-2013 Membership Application please do so your membership helps support trail grooming. If you have already returned you Application the Broad of Directors would like to thank you for your support.
Membership spread the word – Are the people you ride with members of AVSA, if not maybe they should be. Ask them to join and to get involved in club activities.
Trail maintenance – Trail brushing and grading began in early September. Keith reports all of the brushing has been completed on nearly 87 miles of trails. A big thank you to those volunteers who give of their time in this annual pre-season effort to make the Grayling area snowmobile trail system one of the best and safest in the Lower Peninsula. Signing will be complete in late October or early November.
New Drag – The Board of Directors during their September meeting approved the purchase of a new Doobie Drag. Over the last couple of years it has become apparent that two of our current older drags do not process wet snow very well leaving us with only one usable drag during wet snow conditions. With only one out of three drags available in wet snow conditions it limited our ability groom trails in a timely fashion. This purchase does not qualify for State of Michigan Sponsor Reimbursement Funds so it will be paid for out of AVSA’s general fund. We anticipate delivery of the new drag in early November and after a little personalization it will be ready for the season.
Safe Riding – remember safe riding starts with you! Ride sober!
