More on the winter weather forecast (excerpts reprinted from the Weekly Choice October 7) – A True Northern Winter Ahead? La Nina may encourage more typical temps and snowfall amounts this year. The Farmer’s Almanac forecast are for a warm autumn followed by a colder than normal winter with less than average snow fall. The good folks at National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (a.k.a. NOAA) agree, with one exception La Nina will have a strong impact on our weather in the coming season with above normal precipitation. Think Snow! Lots of Snow!
It is with great sadness that we must once again report the passing of another founding member and Past President of AVSA, Ken Riehle. Ken was a key player in the formation of this organization and served as President for many years. Our sincere condolences go out to his family and friends.
