2/22/19 XC Ski Update – XC Ski conditions are terrific – at the moment. See below weather forecast. What will be, will be. Or not.
From TV 9 & 10:
Today: A nice end to the work week with mostly to partly sunny skies and highs in the lower to mid 30s! Winds come out of the South/Southwest at 5-10 mph.
Tonight: We’re going to see increasing clouds as the night progresses with overnight lows ranging from 16 to 24 degrees. Winds will be out of the South/Southeast at 5-10 mph.
Your Saturday: Saturday starts off cloudy but scattered rain, mix and snow will move in for the afternoon and evening. This little disturbance will be leading the way for a massive storm system that will move in early Sunday. Expect highs in the low 30s to low 40s with some very slick conditions possible in areas.
Sunday: A winter storm moves into the region early Sunday morning and impacts us throughout the day. Winds will start to pick up and could gust as high as 50-60 mph. This could create some power outages and blowing/drifting snow which will lead to white out conditions in areas. Your morning starts with rain and mix but that will change over to heavy snow for the afternoon, evening and nighttime hours. Snow and some ice accumulations are expected. Highs reach the mid 30s to low 40s. We will continue to watch this system closely as it approaches.
Next Week: Monday will start off with some morning snow showers but those slowly taper off throughout the day. Skies remain mostly cloudy with much cooler highs low 10s to low 20s. Tuesday is looking quiet to start but scattered snow showers move in for the afternoon and evening. Highs will be in the mid 10s to mid 20s. A weak disturbance will move through Wednesday with some snow showers. Highs range from the mid 20s to mid 30s. Thursday is looking mostly to partly sunny with highs in the lower to upper 20s.
