TV 9 & 10 Weather Forecast:
This Afternoon: A clipper system moves into Northern Michigan bringing snowy conditions and more accumulations. This could create some slick roads and reduced visibilities for commutes home this evening so take it slow. Highs will be in the low 20s to low 30s with winds out of the West at 5-15 mph.
Tonight: It’s going to be a snowy night as lake effect sets up after the clipper system pulls away. Frigid air moves in as lows drop to -8 to 10 degrees! By tonight everyone sees at least a trace to an inch of fresh snow while the Tip of the Mitt, Western Lower Peninsula and Northern areas of the U.P. could see 2-5? with isolated higher amounts up to 8? possible. Winds come out of the North/Northwest at 10-20 mph making it feel well below zero for everyone.
Tomorrow: Lake effect snow continues generating more accumulations for spots across the U.P., Northern Lower and Western parts of the Central Lower. Highs will be very cold as arctic air settles in only reaching 0 to 15 degrees. Breezy winds will also make it feel a lot colder so bundle up!
The Weekend: Saturday is looking at a bit more lake effect snow and cold temps ranging from 7 to 15 degrees. Sunday sees the chance for some snow and arctic highs ranging -4 to 18 degrees. A very cold weekend in store!
Next Week: Temps start off dangerously cold Monday morning ranging from -22 to 5 degrees! We also have a winter storm that we are watching that could bring significant snow accumulations and gusty winds. Highs will be in the lower single digits to lower 20s but feel colder when factoring in wind chills. Tuesday morning starts off with system snow but as that pulls away we’re going to see lake effect take over. Winds will still be breezy with highs in the low 10s to low 20s. Lake effect snow, cold air and gusty winds is the story for your Wednesday as well with highs ranging from 0 to 10 degrees.
