XC Ski Trail Conditions 1/25
Hanson Hills: Groomer Jason is out on the trails this morning and reports that trails are grooming out nicely. Green, Blue, Yellow and Brown trails are groomed for skating and he will be setting fresh tracks on Green, and Yellow today.
XC Ski Headquarters: Today we will see a return to colder temps, as well as some SNOW! The trails are open for skiing today, and Ginzu Dana will start grooming later in the day as the snow accumulates. So far we are expecting a great weekend of wintertime skiing coming up! Even Paul Gross, head Weatherman of WDIV Detroit, emailed us to say “Don’t worry, Bob and Mariah! A return to more typical wintertime temperatures is coming this week!”
TV 9 & 10 weather:
This Morning/Today: We have some patchy fog this morning with some light drizzle as well. Temperatures are in the lower to middle 30s with light winds. Expect decent morning commute conditions but some light snow could start to fly around 8-9am. Today is going to be a cloudy day with snow moving in. Some of this snow could be mixed with rain at times but most of us will see a trace to 2″ of snow. Highs are going to be in the mid 30s to low 40s with winds out of the North/Northeast at 5-10mph.
Tonight: Snow showers are going to continue tonight with overnight lows in the mid 20s to low 30s. Winds will be out of the North/Northeast at 5-10mph. Accumulations could again be around a trace to 2″ in for spots heading into Thursday morning.
Thursday & Friday: Scattered snow showers will be out there to start Thursday but as the winds turn more Northwest and cooler air starts to filter in we will start to see lake effect snow showers organize. Expect to see lake effect snow showers later Thursday and they will continue Friday and through the weekend. Friday is going to be snowy with lake effect snow showers. Highs will be in the mid 20s to mid 30s.
Your Weekend & Monday: Lake effect snow showers hold strong Saturday with highs in the mid 20s to mid 30s. Sunday is looking cloudy with some lake effect snow showers as well. Highs are going to be in the lower to upper 20s. Monday will be cloudy with a chance for an isolated lake effect snow shower. Highs will be in the upper teens to mid 20s. A clipper system will move in Tuesday which will bring another quick shot of snow. Highs will be in the mid 20s to low 30s. -Meteorologist Michael Stevens
