Forbush Corner: No current report available, but with the recent snowfall, I’m sure their trails will be in excellent shape as well.
Hanson Hills: Lodge and Trails Open at 9am. Green, Blue and Red trails have been groomed this morning. Groomer Jason is setting fresh tracks this morning. Expect a great weekend of skiing!!
XC Ski Headquarters: The dense 5-7 inches of snow we received Wednesday night and into Thursday morning groomed up absolutely beautifully with picture-perfect classic tracks and corduroy skate lanes. As of 6:45 this morning we have received a heavy dusting of additional snow overnight. Groomer Henry will snowcomb all the skating lanes early this morning. These are the best trails conditions we’ve seen in a few weeks. We have an 7 to 11 inch base, and there is 10 to 16 inches of snow in the woods.
TV 9 & 10 weather report: Today: Expect partly to mostly cloudy skies today with isolated light lake effect at times. Highs today are going to be in the mid 20s to low 30s with winds out of the West/Northwest at 5-15mph. Some peeks of sunshine will be out there but overall skies will be partly to mostly cloudy.
Tonight: More clouds tonight with overnight lows in the lower to upper 20s. Winds are going to be out of the West/Southwest at 5-15mph.
Your Weekend: Saturday is looking breezy with partly cloudy skies. Highs are going to be much warmer with mid 30s to mid 40s. Some sunshine with breezy Southwest winds and highs well above average. Sunday is going to start off quiet but a clipper system will move in for the afternoon and evening. Highs are going to be in the low 20s to low 40s. This means a little bit of snow to the North and more of a mix and even some rain in the Lower Peninsula.
Next Week: Another clipper system moves in Monday with highs in the mid 20s to upper 30s. This means we will see a good shot of snow throughout the day with breezy winds at times. Tuesday & Wednesday could be very active with a storm system moving in from the West. Right now we could see a good bit of snow with gusty winds. This could really bog down travel and commutes Tuesday evening and Wednesday. More blowing and drifting concerns along with accumulating snow showers. Highs are going to be in the mid 20s to mid 30s Tuesday and in the mid teens to mid 20s Wednesday. Lake effect will move in for Thursday with highs in the lower to upper 20s. -Meteorologist Michael Stevens
