XC Ski Headquarters: We had a great blue sky and perfect snow XC ski day yesterday. Today looks like it will be sunny until 4 this afternoon and the temps will keep the snow in great shape. At first light Groomer Henry will Ginzu groom / snow comb all the skating lanes and leave them in excellent condition. The tracks are set and in very good condition. We have a 9 to 13 inch base and 12 to 16 inches of snow in the woods. According to the weather forecast today will be a better day to ski than tomorrow!
9 & 10 weather forecast:
Expect to see mostly sunny skies this morning but clouds will be on the increase later this afternoon and evening. Winds will also be on the increase later today as well. Highs are going to be in the mid 20s to mid 30s with winds out of the South/Southeast at 10-20mph. Tonight is going to bring in some wintry mix for the Lower Peninsula which could give us some icy conditions heading into tomorrow morning. Overnight lows are going to be in the mid 20s to mid 30s with winds out of the South at 10-20mph.

Temperatures Saturday will stay warm with a chance for a flurry or two for Northern Michigan. Highs are going to be in the mid 30s to mid 40s. Sunday is looking cloudy with a chance for some light snow and highs are going to range from 30 to 40 degrees. High pressure moves in for Monday and that will give us mostly sunny skies but temperatures will slide a little bit. Low 20s to low 30s will be your highs to start next week. Mostly to partly sunny with highs in the mid 20s to low 30s. We will have a chance for some light snow Tuesday for the Upper Peninsula and Straits. Cloudy conditions and highs in the mid 20s to mid 30s Wednesday. We could see a light snow shower or two Wednesday as well. -Meteorologist Michael Stevens
