I saw an odd sight this weekend on the Manistee River…a canoe (with two people) floating downstream with a huge yellow flag flying in the center of it. It was the coiled snake with “Don’t Tread on Me” – I wonder why they were flying a flag at all. Obviously someone was making a statement, but I’m not sure what the statement was. I’ve seen lots of interesting things and people canoeing and kayaking, but this is my first sighting of a big flag!
