About Gates Ausable Lodge
For over 40 years we’ve been serving anglers from our perch along Michigan’s Au Sable River. We’re a loose collection of trout bums and spouses of trout bums who came to the river to live simple, good lives. We tie almost all of our flies, make food from fresh ingredients, oversee humble riverside rooms, and share our passion for this river with others thru our guide service and our excellent shop staff. We are here to help you with your experience, whether you’re tying flies in a city apartment in New York, or are trying to match a hatch in the Fence Run just outside the shop.
