I went to a meeting at City Hall last night where they explained about all the road construction that is going to happen in Grayling next year. The main Business Loop is going to be closed for bridge repair (the one over the AuSable River) from Mid March until the end of June. The detour will be Maple Street to Michigan Ave. M-72 Grayling MAP
The county is repaving part of North Down River Road, part of Sherman Road and part of 612 between Jones Lake to KP Lake.
The North Down River Road bridge over the AuSable River is going to be replaced. That will be a four to five month job. The detour route will be Wilcox Bridge Road.
The M-93 bridge heading to Hartwick Pines over I-75 will be under some construction as a new foot path/bike bridge is added on. This will not be a closure.
Michigan Avenue will have some repair from Spruce to Eric beginning May 1 and ending by July 1. From Erie to Park St.will be a second stage of the project, and I believe will be in July. (sorry, I didn’t write that part down).
The River Festival parade will have to be rerouted this year due to the above project.
There will be some minor work on the bridge over the AuSable River on M-72 East but there will be no closure.
Stay tuned for maps.
