Wellington Farm Quilt Show 2020 – Wellington Farm USA will host its annual Quilt Show on Saturday and Sunday, July 18 and 19. Many quilts will be on display throughout the 60-acre living history park. Some quilts are recent creations while others are antique. There will also be a demonstration of quilt tying. Through out the farm, there will also be examples of barn quilts. Some of the quilts, including the barn quilts, will be for sale. Anyone who would like to display a quilt at the Wellington Quilt Show may do so. Quilts for the show should be dropped off at the farm’s Visitor Center by noon Friday, July 17
Throughout the Quilt Show weekend, the entire living history complex will be open. The Stittsville Church, Summer Kitchen and Grist Mill will staffed with historical interpreters in period attire. Crafters Alley will be in operation with basket makers, weavers, spinners, broom makers and blacksmiths. The Lamkin Historic Display depicting one-of-a-kind woodworking artifacts will also be open.
Although not completely restored, especially for the Quilt Show, the Homer Annis House will be available for viewing. The quilt tying demonstration will be in the house. Eventually, the Homer Annis House will be the focal point of a historical presentation to be known as the Annis Farmstead. The house is a 1927 Montgomery Ward House, purchased from a catalogue. It was the first house in rural Crawford County to have electricity.
