Coming up in mid-July is the Annual Quilt Show at Wellington Farm USA. Scheduled for July 16, 17 and 18, the Quilt Show weekend is a very popular weekend at the 60-acre living history farm near Grayling. Anyone who has a quilt they would like to display is cordially invited to bring it to the farm for the show. Quilts should be dropped off at the Visitor Center on Wednesday or Thursday, July 14 or 15. To be included in the show, quilts must be at the farm no later than 4:00 p.m. Thursday, July 15. All quilts will be tastefully displayed in buildings throughout the historic park.
Needless to say, the results of the Corona Virus has caused many changes to be made at the living history farm. Wellington Farm USA apologizes for any inconvenience the changes in programming may have caused. As of yet, Wellington Farm USA has not been able to hire enough help or enlist enough volunteers to man all of the more than a dozen primary buildings. The buildings are open and as much as possible, historical information is provided in written form. However, it is not be the same as hearing it from a costumed interpreter which is the desire of the historic park. As soon as help can be acquired, the buildings will be fully staffed. This is an excellent opportunity for senior citizens and retirees. Spend a few hours at the farm, just sitting and talking about the “good ol’ days.” If you would like to give it a try, please stop by and talk with the staff.
Wellington Farm, USA is located at 6944 S. Military Road southwest of Grayling. The farm is easily accessed from either Exit 251 of I-75 or Exi206 of US-127. The living history park is now open Wednesday thru Saturday from 9 to 5 and Sunday from 10 to 4. Family groups of at least 4 or more can schedule a private tour on Mondays and Tuesdays by calling 989 529 7331.
