Enjoy our meticulously groomed trails, relax in our cozy Day Lodge, peruse the menu at the Stone Turtle Café, and try out a pair of new skis for FREE at our demo center!
As we age, our bodies can easily become weaker and more fragile. One way to combat this is to stay active. Cross country skiing is one way to exercise your body, mind and spirit! Cross country skiing is a sport which not only works many muscle groups, it also improves cardio vascular health and burns a lot of calories! Whether you are looking to lose weight or to just build muscle and stay healthy, cross country skiing may be the exercise for you.
Another wonderful perk to cross country skiing is the solitude and beauty of being out in nature in winter. We are almost all outside much more frequently in summer however, in winter, northern Michigan offers an entirely different experience. Gone are the lawn mowers and screaming swimmers at the lakes. Outdoors in Michigan’s woods in winter, sound is replaced by silence. Stillness and beauty are often all you will see on your journey. Find out what you have been missing all these years!
