Hartwick Pines is a beautiful area filled with some of the last remaining old growth White Pines in the state left from the logging era. Protected since the 1930s, thanks to Karen Hartwick, this park is home to over 40 acres of these beautiful pines. Just one of the amazing features of this park, Hartwick Pines offers a number of hiking and biking trails in addition to kayaking, fishing and even an auto tour.

Michigan’s state parks provide you with a myriad of opportunities to explore and enjoy the out-of-doors year round. Whether you prefer mountain biking or hiking in the summer or the peace and beauty of cross country skiing or snowshoeing in winter, our state parks can provide you with all the opportunities you desire! On rainy or days that are too hot or cold, stay inside and explore the history these parks have to offer in their visitor centers and museums. Explore nature and history in the forms of programs and museum displays.

Enjoy the beauty of your state parks!
