Looking for something fun to do with the family this summer? Head just past the hospital on North Down River Rd and visit the Grayling Fish Hatchery! Visit their 1,000+ Rainbow trout in their raceways, provided by the Michigan DNR, look for our wild trout populations who are always ready for a handout of fish food, visit the marsh raceway which houses many turtles and frogs, and 16 and under are welcome to fish in the Children’s Fishing Pond for free. Just bring your own equipment and bait and practice. Catch and release only.

Grayling Hatchery Incorporated continues its efforts to establish a facility that attract families and researchers while educating visitors on the unique natural resource we have in our backyard – the Au Sable River. Ultimately, our purpose is to serve the community and the Au Sable River. The Grayling Fish Hatchery strives to preserve, protect, and enhance the relationship between our families, our Anglers, and nature. We hope that you can visit the Grayling Fish Hatchery to experience all of our education and conservation initiatives firsthand. We have been hatching inspiration since 1919!
The Hatchery is open to the public from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend!
