Black Iron Days 2021
Black Iron Days 2021

Black Iron Days 2021 features artisans from across the region demonstrating how tools and crafts were made by hand in the late 1800’s. See blacksmiths working steel, learn how to knap a flint knife, see spinners make yarn, watch the steam-powered sawmill in operation, and learn how to make and use an atlatl or long-bow from our friends at the U.S. Forest Service!

Saturday and Sunday, 10am – 4pm, demonstrations will occur at the Logging Museum and Memorial Building. Visitors can park at the Visitor Center or Day Use Area and stroll the paved 1.5 mile loop trail through the Old Growth Forest.

A Michigan Recreation Passport is required to enter the park and can be purchased at the park entrance. There is no cost to enjoy the festival demonstrations. Many of our artisans sell their creations, and there will be food and beverages available to purchase on-site; please bring cash for purchases.
