On September 15 and 16 Wellington Farm, USA near Grayling will host its first Antique Car Festival. All the cars appearing at the festival will be made in 1932 or before. Cars will be displayed throughout the 60-acre living history museum. There is no additional charge for the Car Show. Anyone interested in bringing a car to the show is most welcome but, the car must be 1932 or earlier. In addition to the antique cars, the entire park will be open. Crafters Alley will be in full operation and historic buildings will be staffed by costumed interpreters. The Antique Car Festival will be open from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturday and from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Sunday. At 930 Sunday morning, there will be a non-denominational church service in the historic Stittsville Church.
On Saturday evening, September 15, Wellington Farm, USA will host the Helmsmen in concert. The Helmsmen are an award winning Southern Gospel Quartet well known throughout Midwest. The group is from the Kalamazoo area and have appeared extensively across the southern half of the lower peninsula as well as northern Indiana and Ohio. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. and will be held rain or shine. Lawn chairs and coolers are welcome if the weather is good. Gates open at 6:30 p.m. Admission is $12.50 per person or $20 per couple. No family will pay more than $35. Families are considered to be parents and school age children.
Also now at Wellington Farm is the Classic Comic Exhibit featuring newspaper cartoons from the Depression Era. Visitors can have their picture taken with Dick Tracy. Flathead and the Mole will also be there. There is no extra charge for the Classic Comics exhibit or the new Wellington Post Office exhibit.
Wellington Farm, USA is located at 6944 S. Military Road southwest of Grayling. The farm is easily accessed from either Exit 251 of I-75 or Exi206 of US-127. The historic park is open Wednesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
