An event every week that begins at 9:00 AM on Sunday, Friday and Saturday, repeating until Sun, 23 August 2020
Wellington to Present Civil War Education – With special consideration for the health and safety for everyone involved, Wellington Farm USA will present a Civil War Education Program on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, August 21, 22 and 23. There will be a large display of Civil War camps recreated by several Civil War reenacting groups. Throughout the day, demonstrations of camp life, close order drill and cannon firing will take place. Costumed interpreters will be available to demonstrate various tasks as well as answer questions while maintaining the social distancing required.
In keeping with the safety of everyone, those people attending the Civil War Education Event will be given a time to enter the display. This is to maintain the social distancing that is recommended. Face masks will be required to enter any building. In addition to the camps and demonstrations, all buildings of the 60-acre living history farm will be open.
Needless to say, the Corona Virus has caused many changes to be made at the living history complex near Grayling. Wellington Farm USA apologizes for any inconvenience the changes in programming may have caused. The ultimate goal of the 60-acre living history farm is to provide the best historical and educational experience possible while still keeping all visitors and interpreters safe. Current available staffing does not allow them to do that on a seven day-a-week schedule, therefore the park is closed Monday through Thursday. However, visitors are invited to walk the farm’s roads and trails free of charge on those weekdays.
Wellington Farm, USA is located at 6944 S. Military Road southwest of Grayling. The farm is easily accessed from either Exit 251 of I-75 or Exi206 of US-127.
