Brian Ashton
Brian Ashton started playing at the age of 12 as a drummer in the GHS Band. He began playing professionally at age 16. After graduation in 1961, he moved to the big city. There he played Bass Guitar with several musical groups. Since then he has learned to play guitar & piano. Brian has had the opportunity to share center stage with artists such as Tanya Tucker, Jerry Lee Lewis, Grand Funk Railroad, Teagarden & Van Winkle, Faron Young, & Bob Seger. He also has a private practice teaching several different instruments, and a retail musical instrument & accessories business as well as repairing string instruments. Brian and his band can be heard in the local AuSable River Canoe Marathon Parade.

Please join us for a live concert on June 6 at 6pm in the dining room at the Grayling Senior Center. No registration or admission fee, but donations will be appreciated.

BELLA’S COUNTY FAIR W/MARGIE

Margie tells us about Bella’s County Fair Quilt: Bella was my grandfather’s local telephone operator back when you needed a switchboard to work the phones. I still remember our ring, it was two short and one long. Bella also ran a small “mom and pop” store. She was also not above listening in on conversations. I remember going down to the store and seeing her with her head set on and a quilt in her hands. She would always say this is the quilt that will win first prize at the County Fair.
