Welcome to the 2010-2011 Snowmobiling Season - As we prepare for the start of what we all hope will be an outstanding snowmobile season the Board Members of the AuSable Valley Snowmobile Association hope you have had a wonderful and safe summer.

AVSA Board was saddened by the recent passing of Neal Michal. – Neal was one of the founding members of the AVSA and served as treasurer for many years.

If we can believe the weathermen – they are saying the hot summer has caused the Great Lakes water temperatures to be above average and Northern Michigan should experience above average lake effect snow fall this winter.  Hopefully, Mother Nature is listening!

Trail maintenance – Trail brushing, grading and signing began in early September.  Keith reports most of the brushing has been completed on our nearly 87 miles of trails. Thank you to those volunteers who give of their time in this annual preseason effort to make the Grayling area snowmobile trail system one of the best and safest in the Lower Peninsula.

General Membership Meetings– began in September and will be held the first Thursday of every month at the Ramada Inn in Grayling starting at 7: pm.  Our meetings are open to anyone who wishes to attend.  Our next General Membership Meeting will be on Thursday, October 7^th.

Membership Form – Included with this mailing is your 2010-2011 Membership form, as in years past Family Memberships are $20 and Business Sponsors are $50.  We look forward to receiving your application.  Remember those working hard to make our trail system one of the best are all Volunteers.

Elections Announcement – Three board seats will be up for election at the General Membership meeting January 6, 2011.  If, you would like to nominate someone for any of these seats mail that information to AVSA, PO Box 1176, Grayling, MI 49738 or in person at one of the next two General Membership meetings.
