Grayling Visitors Bureau

Snow is finally falling and ski areas are working on their trails. While most are not open for skiing quite yet, Forbush Corner is reporting open but with poor conditions.

This is the latest from Forbush Corner….Friday, Dec 3, 6:30 am.  We only gained a couple of inches in the night but are expecting another couple of inches thru the day.  I will probably give it one more light grooming this morning and hope that the snow that is supposed to be coming will cover the lighter spots.  I am thinking that it will be skiing but not very good.  Still it is the best we have had since March.  Suite yourself.  Fun times with the Whiffenpoofs, a free return later in the season, special deals on the inventory, meeting all your friends that will probably be here regardless, but then rock skis.

December 2, 11:20 pm,  They are now calling for 3 to 5 inches of snow for tonight.  Would be great to be able to give it another grooming before the weekend.  Temps for the weekend range from mid 20′s to upper 20′s for highs.

Dec 2, 3:30 pm.  Just completed the first grooming!!!!  Quite rough yet but it is a start.  Expect some stubble and an occas barespot.  Very fortunate to have a large groomer with a light plate that can track on days when even a snowmobile would not be able to groom.  There is also a very shallow track set.    Open Saturday and Sunday.Use your rock skis (i.e. Fischer, Atomic, Rossis etc) and not your good Madshus.  The others are so slow and such poor performers that a few scratches would not affect them.  They should be replaced anyway and so why not get some use out of them this weekend.

Now some more BIG NEWS:  from Yale University ( Bush?  I know but there have been others go there that were/are wonderful people).  One of the finest singing groups in the world are the Whiffenpoofs.  AND they will be skiing here on Saturday.  AND that is not all…..they will also do a song for us !!!!!!!!   Want to hear more?  They will be performing in Grayling at the Joseph Stripe Auditorium on Sunday.

Finally the Madshus order has arrived …. 28 boxes!  Lots of work ahead getting it set out.  The best skis in the world makes it a bit easier.
