Bluewater Michigan Chapter NRHS presents the Grayling Color Tour, an excursion train ride (approximately 40 miles round trip) pulled by historic Alco diesel locomotives of Lake State Railway Company through the colorful fall foliage. The train will depart at 1:00 PM from the Crawford County Historical Museum (former Michigan Central depot) at 97 Michigan Avenue in Grayling, head north on the historic former MC line to the vicinity of Grayling and return approximately two hours later on October 2 & 3. Please be at the boarding site no later than 12:45 PM.
Parking is available nearby. For reasons of safety, the train will be boarded ONLY from the depot side of the track.
The train will include comfortable coaches and a car offering beverages, snacks and souvenir merchandise. Ticket prices for this family entertainment experience are: Ultra Class – Adults ONLY – $60, First Class – $35 each (Adults and Children), Coach Class – Adults $20 child $15 (accompanied by an Adult) all seats subject to a handling charge.. IMPORTANT NOTES: Tickets must be returned with any request for refund; no refunds granted after September 7, 2010. The boarding site and activities associated with this excursion may require walking over uneven ground and step climbing. The historic equipment used in these excursions was built before the advent of handicapped-accessible transportation and in most cases can not be modified. Bluewater crew members are not permitted to handle occupied wheelchairs because of potential injury to themselves or the passengers.
